About SafeGuard
SafeGuard, based in Westfield, Indiana, has been the leader in child passenger protection for more than 25 years and is the largest child seating safety components manufacturer in the world. SafeGuard has been involved with school bus seating since 1971 and was the first company to bring lap-shoulder belts to market on school bus seats in 2002. With its own modern crash test facility, in-house certified passenger safety technicians, and engineers who are experts in their field, SafeGuard is working to achieve one goal – to provide the most advanced protection for your child.
Testing
Bus seats made by SafeGuard undergo the most rigorous testing in the school transportation industry. Engineers at SafeGuard utilize the company’s modern testing facility to verify the performance of bus seating products, as well as support product development of its OEM customers in the school bus industry.
Over the past decade, SafeGuard has conducted ten full barrier crash tests on school buses to gain a full understanding of student occupant protection. To support development of the company’s bus seat products, SafeGuard has conducted more than 200 sled tests and 20 school bus rollover tests, as well as performing tests on thousands of components to assure performance and durability.
The company’s ongoing commitment to thorough product testing results in the development of bus seats that meet or exceed applicable federal and state requirements. For more information on SafeGuard testing capabilities, visit www.capetesting.com.
